CVC Reverse Car Drawing

The 2009-10 fund
raising drive began with the fourth annual CVC Reverse Car
Drawing at Penn State's Medlar Field at Lubrano Park
baseball complex on September 24, 2009.
More than 600 supporters
attended the lavishly catered event held on the Medlar Field at Lubrano Park concourse, home of the
State College Spikes and
Penn State baseball. The concourse was transformed into a garden
party for the gala event with stylish landscaping,
ice sculptures, wine and drink bars and veranda
décor. Lucky attendees enjoyed the lavish catering of
Catering with Style by Danny Rallis as they mingled and
listened to live music.

During
our event in 2008, Coaches vs. Cancer director Steve Greer who
had been battling leukemia since the summer gave an
emotional speech to the attendees making it a
special night for all.
"Having our CVC director, Steve Greer, with us last
night was the icing on the cake," Pyle said. "He and
so many others who are fighting cancer are the
reason we put so much time and energy into CVC. Our
committee has a common goal - try to make a
difference in the lives of those who have been
affected by a disease that has touched all of us in
one way or another." |
Coaches vs.
Cancer Brats Challenge

During
the
Nittany Lion Hoops Club
Wisconsin Tailgate, we held a "Battle of the Brats"
outside Beaver Stadium in an effort to raise $10,000
to fight cancer and also determine the best brat
eating fans between the two schools. Fans lined up
at a blue tent for Penn State fans and a red tent
for Wisconsin.
Johnsonville Brats donated 2,000 brats Pacifico
donated the buns and
Sheetz, Inc. donated 2,000 drinks for the
contest in which fans were asked to make a $5
donation to fight cancer and received a brat and
drink to down for their favorite team.
